Melissa Rusch, PT, DPT, PCS
Hi! I’m Melissa and welcome to my practice! I am a physical therapist who specializes in all things pediatrics. I would love to help your child and family have a Strong Start to their gross motor development.
My passion for pediatric therapy comes from a deep commitment to improving the lives of children and their families. I work closely with parents, caregivers, and other healthcare providers to create a holistic, team-oriented approach that maximizes each child’s growth and independence. I specialize in treating a wide range of conditions, from developmental delays and motor skill challenges to neurological and orthopedic conditions. I use treatment techniques including but not limited to dynamic movement intervention (DMI), neurodevelopmental treatment (NDT), total motion release (TMR Tots), and serial casting for optimal results and functional participation in daily activities.
My approach focuses on creating fun, engaging, and evidence-based therapy sessions tailored to each child’s unique needs and abilities. I believe in empowering families with the tools and knowledge they need to support their child’s progress at home and in everyday life.
I graduated from Binghamton University with a major in Psychology and went on to graduate school at Touro College, receiving my second Bachelor's degree in Biology and my Doctorate of Physical Therapy. After working for a few years, I went back for an extra year of schooling and completed a pediatric residency and passed the national exam to become a Board Certified Pediatric Clinical Specialist.
When I’m not working with my amazing clients, I enjoy spending time with my family and doing anything outdoors.
I look forward to meeting you and your child and being part of your journey toward achieving your therapy goals!
